What causes seasons

                                                 What causes season

When the Earth turns around the sun it will be summer and when it’s on the other side of the sun it is winter.

Autumn happens before summer and spring happens before winter because the Earth also rotates on its axis in an anticlockwise.

What is wrong with Pluto

The Problem with Pluto by David Hill
SJ Level 3 Feb 2012

WALT: Use a cline graphic organiser to order words with similar meanings
WALT: create an acrostic phrase

There are lots of different words that describe the comparative (to compare) size of an object.

Use this cline scale to find the words which indicate size and fit them along the scale (click to edit the image)

People used this acrostic phrase to remember the order of the planets: My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nine Pies. Now that Pluto is no longer an official planet create your own acrostic sentence to remember the order of the planets.

3. Write a paragraph summary explaining if Pluto is a planet, and why/why not.

It's about Pluto, and about people who say who killed Pluto and who did not
know about Pluto. Pluto is smaller than the moon. It takes 200 year for just one day,
and Pluto is our ninth planet.

Trip to Coromandel

                        Trip to Coromandel

                          Introduction

My holiday trip took three and a half hours to get there
from Auckland. We walked  for long time and saw olden day metal
and they used to dig for gold. My whole family went and my dad's friend.

First in the holiday we woke up early in the morning,
got changed and filled our bag with  bottles of water.
We also took some food for us to eat. We got everything ready
because we were going on big trip to Coromandel. In the olden
days people use to get gold at Coromandel. There are big mountains
there too.

It took a long time to get there. It was three and a half hour drive. . My dads friend came to join us on our trip to Coromandel, we were going on a van but my dads friend went on his car. On the way we found somewhere to stop and eat.We parked our cars and got out and ate. We were eating sandwiches, they were healthy. My sandwich had beetroot and lettuce, blue cheese, it was a yummy snack.

After we ate we started to drive again it was a very long ride.
Then finally we made it to Coromandel. All of us got out
and looked at the river. It was a big river with large rocks. Then we went to the map because my dad's friend was talking about where we are going to go. later on we started to walk up the mountain.
It was a big mountain to walk up, some of us got a little tired but
we still walked. When we were walking we saw a tunnel. It was where the people used to dig for gold in the olden days. My dads friend got torches out of his bag for us to use in the dark tunnel.
we walked through the tunnel. There were two tunnels. We went to the one that leads you outside. But then a lady came to us and said you can’t walk over here
so we had to go all the way back.

After that we drove back home. I was so tired when we got home, I went to my bed a fell in it.
And my first time going to Coromandel.
It was the awesome best trip.

My best time ever with Danny

On Saturday 26th of September 2015, My family went to drop my Dad to help the teacher do his garden in Mount Wellington. We all went to Danny’s house, then my mum talked to Danny mum and asked if we would like to come out with them to the park since its a nice sunny day.  Then my mum agreed she said yes we should go out to the park.  All of us went back home and cleaned our house because Danny’s mum was waiting for Danny to return home with his Nana.

When Danny arrived back to his mum, they got ready to come over to our house with his little brother Marcus.  We all travelled together in our van.
Only eight  people who can fit in the van, but we are lucky because there were eight people who could fit in the van.  Then we made it to the Glendowie skate park then we got our basketball a we saw a basketball hoop, we started to play we played master, this is how you play masters, you line up and someone has to be the master, but you only if you get it in the hop
then you can be the master, that's how you play the game.

So that's what we played master, after we got
tired then we went home but something even better
happened I gotted to go Danny’s house again.
But only Tauola had to with my little brother Tini.
We went to get some fish and chips, we went to Danny’s house. Then we ate, after we ate we started to play outside we played tag, next I play with Danny on his game we played Call of duty. Then my mum came to pick us up to go home because it was getting late.  So we went home. I felt so tired when I came back I was about to faint. Thank’s for reading

why we have to eat bugs

We should eat insects as part of a healthy diet
I agree with my statement because, they are healthy,
they are free and cheaper to produce.

Insects have 80% protein and minerals, bugs are good because meet
has protein but bugs doesn't just has protein it has more than that, bugs even have
more than iron, meet has not so much minerals and iron but bugs have more minerals
and iron.   Bugs take up less space water and food and + bugs grow faster than beef,
beef take long to grow, it takes like more than one year for beef to grow.

Why Glenbrae is the best school

Glenbrae School is the best because we do sport, maths and there are digital learners.

Sport is one of my favorite things at Glenbrae School. We like doing sport because we like to keep fit at School. We need to be fit because we get faster at running and sometimes we get smarter. Sports we do running, athletics, rugby league and soccer.

Maths is cool because when we try to do hard maths and know smart strategies. Maths is one of my favourite things to work on, I learn the most when I do maths. Maths is the best for me.

I like this school because we have digital learners, and we have netbook
for doing our work, we have our room Seven blog and all of us have our own
blog, we use it our blog to post up good things we have done.

Why we need to brush our teeth

We need to brush our teeth because our brief well smell bad and when you brush your teeth
your teeth will be clean and healthy. It makes your teeth strong for you when you eat
there are all sots of and teeth's. This is as brushing our teeth.

Cross Country perpetration

Today we did cross country practice. We went out to run twice around the field, it was cold and there was also water crystals on the grass. Room 7 went out on the field and did some stretches we stretched our thigh muscles and our calf muscles too. Mrs Parker then asked all of the girls to line up and run twice around the field, so the girls ran and ran. Then Mrs Parker asked all of the boys to go and line up so they could run" the boys jogged, and I jogged with my friend Charlie. Well I got so tired, I saw mud, the mud slowed me down when I jogged through the mud, the mud was so squishy my foot  kept  getting stuck, then we jogged on. After we did our two laps around the field my legs were so tired and sore. So next time I will jog a little faster and not give up. I love running.

My hexagonal prism

20150824_115826.jpg

On Monday 24 August we made shapes with Mrs Raj, We made our nets, we cut around the shape, folded the edges and made the shape.
I made a hexagonal prism. It is a nice box.

My hexagonal prism has 8 faces, 18 edges and 12 vertices.
Boxes are made to hold or store things.  Boxes are used for packaging.
When I made a hexagonal prism it was fun, I did not even know it was going to end up into a hexagonal prism.
Learning about 3D shapes and creating one was fun.
